We will provide a programme for the partners and children of delegates attending Linux.conf.au. This 5 day programme comes at a very reasonable price and will take you to many attractions around Auckland. Note that this is a work in progress that can be refined once we have confirmed bookings.
Lunches will be provided.
Partner’s Programme Itinerary
Monday January 12th:
8:45am - Official Maori Welcome @ Auckland University.
10:30am - On the bus and away to the Maritime Museum.
1pm - Lunch on the Navigator Outrigger (an above ground Hāngi).
And for the afternoon a cruise up the Viaduct on the TE AURERE.
Tuesday January 13th:
Wednesday January 14th:
9:30am - On the bus at Auckland University to visit Auckland Museum.
Picnic lunch in the park next to the War Memorial.
Thursday January 15th:
9:30am - Meet the bus at Auckland University for a tour of Mount Eden and Eden Garden.
Returning for lunch at Auckland University.
This afternoon is “free range”. You can wander Auckland’s CBD and shops, hang out in the University or join a group for a Day Spa Experience at The Langham Hotel.
We have secured a special offer at The Chuan Spa at The Langham.
For NZ$200 and one and a half hours you will receive:
- A head massage
- A full facial
- A back massage
- and champagne
This package is normally valued at $350.
Numbers are limited (up to 8) so interested Partner’s Programme Attendees need to book and pay LCA2015 by December 10.
Friday January 16th:
9am - This morning there is a choice:
Butterfly Creek (appropriate for younger children)
Rainbow's End*(appropriate for older children)
*We need input from the Partner’s Programme Attendees at least one month before the conference to secure spots for the preferred morning activity.
A Picnic lunch will be at the venue.

- A Hat
Recommended for each day are:
- Change of weather clothing (it can be windy in Auckland and that wind can be a bit chilly, even in summer).
- Camera (or your phone).
It will be extremely helpful to us here at LCA2015 HQ to have feedback from potential attendees of the Partner’s Programme in the months leading up to the conference.
We would love to hear your opinion on what we are proposing as the Partner’s Programme schedule of events, what interests you and what does not. We intend to be as flexible as possible for you; once we have confirmed bookings and we know what age groups of children we have, we can refine the programme to suit.
